Venezuelan state-run steelmaker Sidor saw its pellets production rise to a new level in May 2017, according to a media report.

The local steelmaker produced 246,318 mt of the product in May, a level that hasn’t been seen since 2014.

Sidor has resumed the commodity’s production recently after a 24-day maintenance period at its pellets unit.

During the period, the company repaired the pyro-consolidation machines at its BG-3008 furnace. Refractories repairs were also made in the furnace, among other activities.
