France-based pipe manufacturer Vallourec has signed a renewable energy supply contract with Brazil’s largest integrated energy company Eneva for its operations in the country.

Accordingly, Vallourec will acquire a stake in the Futura I Solar Complex in order to support its production. As part of the deal, which will be valid between September 2023 and December 2035, the French company will procure about 29 megawatts of solar power, which accounts for about 25 percent of Vallourec’s total energy consumption in Brazil.

Vallourec plans to decarbonize its Brazilian operations by switching to renewable energy.
