Brazilian miner and iron ore producer Vale said this week a Minas Gerais state court has once again suspended operations at its Brucutu iron ore mine.

According to Vale, the Minas Gerais court suspended a previous decision allowing Vale to resume operations at its Laranjeiras dam and Brucutu iron ore complex. Vale said its Laranjeiras dam, as well as its other dams supporting the Brucutu iron ore complex, have active and valid stability certificates, which were issued by external auditors in March 2019.

Vale has also reaffirmed its iron ore and pellets sales guidance for 2019. It said it should sell between 307 and 332 million mt/year of iron ore and pellets this year. Vale said it expects 2019 sales volumes to be close to the middle of the 307-332 million mt/year range.
