Uzmetkombinat to start production of seamless tubes

Uzbek steelmaker Uzbekistan Metallurgical Plant (Uzmetkombinat), based in Bekabad in the Tashkent region, has announced that it plans to expand its production range.

In particular, Uzmetkombinat plans to start production of steel seamless hot-deformed tubes with 25-426 mm diameter and wall thickness up to 20 mm. The new production complex is scheduled to be put into operation in 2013. From 2015, the company will produce up to 30,000 mt of seamless tubes per year. The total volume of investment in the project is around $90 million.
