Usiminas appoints new board members

Brazilian flats steelmaker Usiminas has appointed new board members, the company said this week after board member Antonio Mendes and substitute members Yuichi Akiyama and Martha Regina Coelho Teixeira Lassance all resigned.

As a result, Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC) nominated Yuichi Akiyama, Osamu Nakagawa and Henrique de Rezende Vergara to replace the former executives.

The flats steelmaker said the company’s effective board members include Ruy Roberto Hirschheimer, Yoshiaki Shimada, Yuichi Akiyama, Rita Rebelo Horta de Assis Fonseca, Oscar Monteiro Martínez, CFO Ronald Seckelmann, Elias de Matos Brito and Luiz Carlos de Miranda Faria. They will remain in office until 2020.
