Baker Hughes has reported that for the week ending February 7, the US rotary rig count remained level at 790 rigs following a four-rig decrease the week before. The number of rigs drilling for gas decreased by one to 111, while the number of rigs drilling for oil increased by one to 676. The overall rig count is now down by 259 rigs in a year-on-year comparison.
Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 10 to 257 rigs in the week ending February 7, following a three-rig increase the week before. The Canadian rig count is now up by 17 rigs compared to the same week a year ago.
