US OCTG imports up 2.5 percent in November

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) totaled 110,410 mt in November 2019, up 2.5 percent from October but down 27.8 percent from November 2018 levels. By value, OCTG imports totaled $121.5 million in November 2019, compared to $114.4 million in the previous month and $168.9 million in the same month last year.

The US imported the most OCTG from Korea in November, with 39,547 mt, compared to 19,880 mt in October and 6,928 mt in November 2018. Other top sources of imported OCTG in November include Mexico, with 13,972 mt; Argentina, with 10,861 mt; Austria, with 9,825 mt; and Thailand, with 9,610 mt.
