On June 1, 2006, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) initiated a sunset review of the countervailing duty order (CVD) on oil country tubular goods (OCTG) imported from Italy. On the basis of the notices of intent to participate, and adequate substantive responses filed on behalf of the domestic interested parties, and inadequate responses from the respondent interested parties, the DOC conducted an expedited sunset review of this order. As a result of this sunset review, on December 26, 2006, the DOC issued its determination that revocation of the CVD order would not be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of a countervailable subsidy. Accordingly, the ITC has announced the termination of the five-year review of the CVD order on OCTG from Italy.
