According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of hot rolled bar totaled 27,644 mt in October this year, down 3.9 percent from September and up 2.2 percent in October last year. By value, hot rolled bar exports totaled $45.5 million in October, compared to $47.8 million in the previous month and $49.8 million in the same month last year.
The US shipped the most hot rolled bar to Mexico in October with 14,376 mt, compared to 15,857 mt in September and 15,170 mt in October last year. The other top destination was Canada with 9,667 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) US hot rolled bar in October.
