The US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced Wednesday the preliminary results of its administrative review of the antidumping order on circular welded non-alloy steel pipe (standard pipe) from Korea

The review covers two Korean producers/exporters--Hyundai HYSCO and SeAH Steel Corporation--during the period from November 1, 2009 through October 31, 2010.

The DOC calculated preliminary dumping margins of 0.59 percent for Hyundai HYSCO and 2.31 percent for SeAH.

The current dumping duty deposit rates are 0.84 percent for Hyundai HYSCO and 4.99 percent for SeAH.

The DOC plans to complete this administrative review by April 2012.  Until that time, the current dumping duty deposit rates will remain in effect.  Any change in the deposit rates as a result of this review will become effective only when the DOC's final results are published in the Federal Register.

The US industry had originally requested administrative reviews of five Korean producers/exporters in addition to Hyundai HYSCO and SeAH Steel Corporation.  They were Husteel Co., Ltd.; Nexteel Co., Ltd.; Dongbu Steel Co., Ltd.; Kumkang Industrial Co., Ltd.; and A-JU Besteel Co., Ltd.  However, the US industry subsequently withdrew their requests for reviews of these companies, and the DOC rescinded the reviews.
