US DOC releases preliminary dumping margins for Chinese line pipe

SteelOrbis has learned that the US Department of Commerce (DOC) has released its preliminary determination in the antidumping (AD) investigation of circular welded carbon line pipe imports from China.

The DOC has preliminarily determined the following dumping margins:

Huludao Steel Pipe Industrial Co. Ltd -- 67.83 percent

Shanghai Metals & Minerals Import & Export Corp. -- 81.52 percent

Separate-Rate Respondents -- 74.68 percent

China-wide Rate (all other Chinese producers and exporters) -- 81.52 percent

The AD and countervailing (CV) duty investigations of Chinese line pipe imports was initiated in April 2008. The DOC's preliminary CV duty determination was made in September 2008, with subsidy margins ranging from 18.89 percent to 31.65 percent.
