US DOC issues preliminary results on AD orders for stainless pipe from China

On Thursday, March 31, the US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced the preliminary results of its administrative review of the antidumping (AD) order against circular welded austenitic stainless steel pressure pipe from China.
 
The review covers one Chinese producer/exporter - Zhejiang Jiuli Hi-Tech Metals Co., Ltd. / Huzhou Jiuli Welded Seamless Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. - during the period from September 5, 2008 through February 28, 2010.
 
The DOC has calculated a preliminary weighted-average dumping margin of 0.01 percent - which is de minimis.
 
The DOC plans to complete this review by August 2011, and the current dumping duty deposit rate of 10.53 percent will remain in effect until the DOC's final results are published in the Federal Register.  
 
The subject imports are normally classified under subheadings 7306.40.5005, 7306.40.5040, 7306.40.5062, 7306.40.5064, and 7306.40.5085 of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS). They may also enter under HTSUS subheadings 7306.40.1010, 7306.40.1015, 7306.40.5042, 7306.40.5044, 7306.40.5080, and 7306.40.5090.
