The US Department of Commerce (DOC) announced Monday its preliminary determinations in the antidumping (AD) investigations of welded austenitic stainless steel pressure pipe from Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

For Malaysia, the DOC has calculated preliminary dumping margins of 167.11 percent for Superinox International Sdn. Bhd. / Superinox Pipe Industry Sdn. Bhd., Kanzen Tetsu Sdn. Bhd., and Pantech Stainless & Alloy Industries Sdn. Bhd.; and 22.70 percent for all other Malaysian producers and exporters.

For Thailand, the DOC has calculated preliminary dumping margins of 7.16 percent for Ametai Co., Ltd. / Thareus Co., Ltd.; 10.92 percent for That-German Products Public Company Limited; and 7.22 percent for all other Thai producers and exporters.

For Vietnam, the DOC has calculated preliminary dumping margins of 17.72 percent for Sonha International Corporation and Mejonson Industrial Vietnam Co., Ltd., and 53.91 percent for all other Vietnamese producers and exporters.

When these preliminary determinations are published in the Federal Register, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) will require importers to make cash deposits of estimated dumping duties at the rates indicated above.  In addition, CBP will suspend liquidation of entries of subject merchandise, also effective as of the publication date.
