In response to a request from an interested party, the US Department of Commerce (DOC), on September 28, 2005, initiated an antidumping administrative review on oil country tubular goods from Japan for the period August 1, 2004, through July 31, 2005. The review covered JFE Steel Corporation (JFE), Nippon Steel Corporation (Nippon), NKK Tubes (NKK) and Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd. (SMI). The DOC preliminarily determined that JFE and NKK had no shipments of subject merchandise to the US during the period of review, and that Nippon and SMI had no reviewable sales of subject merchandise during the period of review. Accordingly, the DOC preliminary determined that the review of these four companies should be rescinded. Interested parties are requested to submit their comments on these preliminary results. Current dumping deposit rates which will remain in effect until the final results are issued are as follows:

Producers Dumping deposit rate

JFE Steel............................44.20 percent
Nippon Steel.........................44.20 percent
Sumitomo Metal........................0.00 percent
All others...........................44.20 percent
