US crude steel output down 2.9%-Feb 19, 2005

US crude steel production amounted to 2.03 million net tons for the week ending February 19, 2005, representing a capacity utilization rate of 90.8%. For the week ending February 19, 2004, crude steel production totaled 2.09 million net tons at a capacity utilization rate of 88.3%. Crude steel production for the week ending February 19, 2005, indicated a 2.9% decline in production compared to the same period last year. Production for the week ending February 19, 2005, also dropped 1.6% from the previous week, when production was 2.07 million net tons.
