US and Canadian steel service centers see increased shipments in March

US service center steel shipments in March grew substantially across the board, along with Canadian service center steel shipments, while inventory numbers declined for both countries, according to a report today from the Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI).
 
In March 2017, US service center steel shipments increased by 9.7 percent from March 2016. Steel product inventories decreased 6.1 percent from March a year ago.
 
Meanwhile, Canadian service center shipments of steel products increased by 7.4 percent from March 2016. Steel product inventories decreased 2.0 percent from March a year ago.
