US and Canadian rig counts see decent increase

Baker Hughes reported that for the week ending July 25 the US rig count decreased by 12 to 1,883, following a four-rig decrease the week before. The rig count is still up by 107 from 1,776 rigs during the same week a year ago. The gas rig count increased by three to 318, whereas the oil rig count increased by eight to 1,562.

Meanwhile, the Canadian rig count increased by 16 in the week ending July 25 to reach 395 following a 66-rig increase the previous week. The Canadian rig count is now up 66 from 329 rigs during the same week a year ago.
