UkrFA to appeal termination of investigation on ferroalloys import to Ukraine

The Association of Ukrainian Ferroalloy Producers (UkrFA) has said that it considers as illegal the termination of the antidumping (AD) investigation on imports of ferroalloys and intends to appeal this decision in court.

According to the UkrFA, the bodies which were dealing with this investigation did not fully and comprehensively examine the information on this issue.

The association noted that in 2009 40 percent of the Ukrainian ferroalloys market was accounted for by imported products.

As SteelOrbis previously reported, in late December this year Ukraine terminated the AD investigation on imports of ferroalloys regardless of the country of origin and export, deciding that the import of ferroalloys to Ukraine is not carried out in such quantities and under such conditions which caused or threaten to cause great harm to local producers, and thus the national interests do not require the implementation of special measures.

The products subjected to the investigation were ferromanganese with a carbon content of more than two percent (excluding ferromanganese granules of more than 5 mm and with manganese content of more than 65 percent) and ferrosilicomanganese.
