"The implementation of all investment projects will allow us to increase coal production to 69 million mt in five years, representing a 55 percent growth compared to the expected output in 2010," the ministry said.

As SteelOrbis previous reported, Ukraine's Ministry of Coal Industry said it plans to implement development projects involving capital construction and technical re-equipment at 63 state-owned mines. In January-October 2010, the state-owned mines saw their coal production fall by 1.2 percent year on year to 31.495 million mt.
