Ukraine’s finished steel output rises by 9.2 percent in January-May

According to the preliminary data, Ukraine's crude steel production in the first five months of this year reached 14.691 million mt, up 5.8 percent on the corresponding period of last year.

In addition, Ukrainian output of finished steel in the given period rose by 9.2 percent to 13.028 million mt, while production of cast iron went up by one percent to 11.969 million mt - both on year-on-year basis.


In its iron ore segment, in January-May of the current year Ukraine produced 32.543 million metric tons of iron ore and 26.931 million metric tons of iron ore concentrate - up 2.7 and 2.6 percent respectively compared to the same period last year.
