According to the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in October this year Ukraine's average daily pig iron output continued its positive trend, which started in August, registering an increase of about one percent or 700 mt compared to September to 75,500 mt.
In the first ten days of November the country's average daily pig iron output increased further to 76,200 mt.
According to Metallurgprom data, as of November 9, six of Ukraine's 36 operating blast furnaces were idle, while four of the country's 21 converters, 15 of its 35 open hearth furnaces and eight of its 15 electric furnaces also continued to stand idle.
