Ukraine’s average daily steel output continues to fall in May

According to the Ukrainian association of metal producers Metallurgprom, in May this year the average daily output of steel from Ukrainian metallurgical companies declined to the levels seen in February this year.

In May, Ukraine's average daily output of pig iron decreased by 2.6 percent compared to April, to 87,300 mt, production of crude steel declined by three percent month on month to 97,300 mt, though average daily output of rolled steel increased by 0.1 percent month on month to 89,500 mt.

In January-May 2011, crude steel output in Ukraine increased by six percent compared to the same period of 2010, climbing to 14.691 million mt, pig iron production went up by one percent to 11.969 million mt, and rolled steel output increased by six percent to 13.722 million mt.
