Ukraine raises steel consumption in Jan-Sept

According to preliminary information issued by the Ukrainian Association of Metal Traders, during the January-September 2007 period the country increased its steel consumption by 32.6 percent year on year to 7.17 million metric tons.
 
In addition, during the period in question imports occupied a 16 percent share, or 1.17 million metric tons, in the Ukrainian steel market.
