Ukraine posts mere increase in steel output

Ukraine's finished steel production rose 0.5 percent year on year to 32.2 million metric tons in 2005. On the other hand, crude steel production fell 0.2 percent year on year to 38.6 million metric tons in 2005 and pig iron production decreased 1 percent to 30.8 million metric tons. Ukraine's steel pipe production soared 13 percent year on year to 2.29 million metric tons last year.
