Ukraine issues production results for Jan-May

In the first five months of the current year, Ukraine registered a one percent increase in its finished steel product output to 11.482 million mt, a 1.6 percent decrease in its crude steel output to 13.815 million mt and a 0.1 percent decline in its pig iron production to 12.086 million mt, all year on year, according to the data issued by Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers.

The country's production of metallurgical coke in the given period went down by 9.6 percent year on year to 7.396 million mt.

In the January-May period this year, Ukraine produced 28.639 million mt of iron ore concentrate and 9.578 million mt of iron ore pellets - up 2.9 percent and 1.7 percent respectively compared to the same period last year.

In May alone, Ukraine produced  2.757 million mt of crude steel - up 0.3 percent, 2.202 million mt of finished steel products - down 2.4 percent, and 1.517 million mt of metallurgical coke - up 4.8 percent, all on month-on-month basis.
