The Ukrainian Parliament - Verkhovna Rada - has decided to allow the privatization of 50 percent plus one share in Nikopol Ferroalloy Plant (NZF). On March 15, 2006, the Verkhovna Rada withdrew NZF from Ukraine's privatization plans for the 2006-2007 period, thereby prohibiting its sale. NZF is one of the largest manganese ferroalloy producers in the world with a total production capacity of 1.2 million metric tons a year.
