In June this year, Turkey's motor vehicle sales totaled 90,462 units, rising by 41 percent year on year, according to the monthly statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers' Association (OSD). In the same month, Turkey's passenger car sales totaled 67,776 units, up 43 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in the first six months of this year, Turkey's motor vehicle sales amounted to 455,269 units, up 49 percent on year-on-year basis.
In the January-June period, Turkey's motor vehicle exports totaled 486,336 units, up eight percent, while passenger car exports increased by one percent to 303,857 units, both year on year.
In the same period, the country exported 155,374 small trucks, up 13 percent year on year. In the period in question, revenues from total motor vehicle and component exports decreased by ten percent to $10.7 billion, while the revenues from passenger car exports totaled $3.55 billion, decreasing by eight percent, both on year-on-year basis.
In June of the current year, Turkey's total motor vehicle imports amounted to 60,084 units, while passenger car imports totaled 50,835 units, both rising by 43 percent year on year. In the first six months of this year, the country's total motor vehicle imports amounted to 294,412, up 44 percent, while passenger car imports reached 244,207 units, rising by 45 percent, both compared to the same period of 2014.
