Turkey's automotive sales up 10 percent in April from March

In April this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 71.85 percent year on year and 9.96 percent month on month to 91,602 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey increased by 64.16 percent year on year and were up by 13.83 percent month on month to 70,211 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles went up by 103.03 percent year on year and decreased slightly by 1.08 percent month on month to 21,391 units.
 
Meanwhile, in the January-April period this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles increased by 57.11 percent year on year, amounting to 264,850 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country increased by 49.26 percent year on year to 197,202 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 85.54 percent to 67,648 units, both on year-on-year basis.
