According to the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD), in the first 11 months of the current year motor vehicle sales in Turkey totaled 696,500 units, falling by 10.3 percent as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. Meanwhile, in November Turkey's motor vehicle sales saw an increase of 19.7 percent month on month and were up 11.7 percent compared to the same month of 2011, totaling 75,039 units.
In the first 11 months of this year, Turkey's passenger car sales amounted to 475,354 units, falling by 5.8 percent year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's motor vehicle exports came to 678,963 units, while its passenger car exports amounted to 377,066 units, both falling by seven percent compared to the same period last year. The revenue for total motor vehicle and component exports in the January-November period amounted to $17.7 billion, falling nine percent, while the revenue of passenger car exports totaled $5.5 billion, falling by 8.1 percent, both compared to the corresponding period of 2011.
In the first 11 months of 2012, Turkey's passenger car imports fell by 0.6 percent year on year, totaling 347,819 units. In the given period, Turkey's total motor vehicle imports amounted to 435,697 units, falling by 5.2 percent year on year.
