Turkish auto exports keep on increasing

Turkish automotive exports totaled $5.57 billion in the first five months of 2005. In May alone, automotive exports rose 35% year on year to $1.17 billion. For the January-May 2005 period, the Turkish automotive sector exported a total of 162 countries and self-governing territories, as well as 13 free zones. EU member countries accounted for $3.88 billion of the total automotive exports in the first five months of 2005. The automotive exports to Germany, Italy, Austria, Spain and the UK reached $2.82 billion.
