In the first four months of the current year, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 4.4 percent year on year to 6.5 million mt, while the value of these exports moved up by 20.5 percent year on year to $5.4 billion, according to the data released by the Turkish Steel Producers' Association (TCUD).
In the given period, Turkey's long steel exports fell by four percent to 3.5 million mt, while its flat steel exports increased by 8.4 percent to 1.6 million mt, both on year-on-year basis. In the January-April period, the country’s semi-finished steel exports fell by 70.3 percent to 129,000 mt, year on year.
In April this year, Turkey's steel exports decreased by 9.1 percent to 1.5 million mt, with a value of $1.3 billion, up 15 percent, both year on year.
In the given month, Turkey's flat steel exports decreased by 23.6 percent year on year to 346,000 mt, while its long steel product exports increased by 4.7 percent year on year to 812,000 mt. In the given month, the country’s semi-finished steel exports declined by 90.4 percent to 9,000 mt, year on year.
