Kroman Demir Celik, one of Turkey's leading longs producers, has confirmed to SteelOrbis that it will commission its wire rod production as of next Monday (November 3, 2008).

According to a Kroman official, the company will produce wire rods in all sizes from 5.5 mm to 16 mm and the line's daily production capacity will be around 1,500 mt for thin specifications and around 2,500-3,000 mt for thick specifications.

The new wire rods will be exported to overseas markets or offered to the domestic market depending on the market situation.

Kroman Demir Celik, which has a daily production capacity of 6,500 mt of longs products, allocates around 70 percent of its total output to the export markets; however, this ratio may alter slightly due to the current financial crisis.
