In September this year, Turkey's coking coal imports increased by 55.5 percent month on month to 494,456 mt, up 73 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports increased by 37.9 percent to $71.14 million compared to the previous month and rose by 173.6 percent year on year.
In the first nine months of the current year, Turkey's coking coal imports increased by 10 percent to 4.05 million mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $725.3 million, up 121.8 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's coking coal imports from the US amounted to 1,598,945 mt, while coking coal imports from Australia totaled 1,169,159 mt.
