In October this year, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by 40 percent month on month to 292,563 mt, down 50.5 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports decreased by 43.3 percent to $45.25 million compared to the previous month and decreasing by 58.8 percent year on year.
In the January-October period of this year, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by 5.8 percent to 4.45 million mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $826.08 million, down 7.06 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's coking coal imports from Australia amounted to 2,075,656 mt, while coking coal imports from the US totaled 982,802 mt.
