In December last year, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by 37.2 percent month on month to 444,570 mt, down 27.9 percent year on year, according to the data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). Meanwhile, the value of these imports decreased by 50.8 percent to $59.38 million compared to the previous month and declined by 51.2 percent year on year.
In 2019, Turkey's coking coal imports decreased by 3.75 percent to 5.61 million mt, while the revenue from these imports amounted to $1 billion, down 8.4 percent, both year on year.
In the given period, Turkey's coking coal imports from Australia amounted to 2,821,747 mt, while coking coal imports from the US totaled 1,325,358 mt.
