Turkey’s basic metals output up 19.9 percent in November

According to the data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in November 2012 Turkey's monthly industrial production index increased by 11.3 percent year on year, following the 5.7 percent decline recorded in October 2012, which was the strongest fall since September 2009. Meanwhile, the seasonal and calendar adjusted industrial production index increased by 1.5 percent compared to the previous month.

The strongest production index rise was observed in the country's manufacturing industry which recorded a 13.3 percent increase in November compared to the same month of the previous year.

In November last year, the production index for the manufacture of basic metals in Turkey rose 19.9 percent year on year, recording the strongest rise since February 2011, and was up 7.4 percent over October, while the output index for the manufacture of fabricated metal products rose by 21.4 percent year on year and was up by 17.7 percent compared to the previous month.
