Turkey terminates safeguard duty investigation without measures

According to Turkey’s Official Gazette on May 7, Turkey has terminated the safeguard duty investigation on certain steel products launched in April 2018, without imposing any measures. The Ministry of Economy has not found any absolute increase compared to domestic production and no significant harm or threat of harm to domestic producers has been found as regards rising imports.

The investigation covered certain flat, long, pipe and hollow sections, railway and tram line components and stainless flat steel products, excluding ones originating from the European Union.

Products subject to the investigation currently fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7208, 7209, 7210, 7211, 7212, 7225, 7226, 7213, 7214, 7215, 7216, 7217, 7227, 7228, 7302, 7303, 7304, 7305, 7306, 7319 and 7320.
