Turkey-based plantmaker CVS Makine has announced that cold tests on the new ladle furnace and vacuum oxygen decarburization (VOD) facility supplied to Turkish steelmaker Toscelik's Niksic plant in Montenegro were completed in the current month.

The company is currently preparing to conduct hot tests on the ladle furnace and VOD facility.

Toscelik acquired the Montenegro-based state-run steel producer Zeljezara Niksic, which was put on sale to reduce the country's debt, for €15.1 million in May 2012. The plant has an annual alloy and non-alloy steel production capacity of 300,000 mt.
