TISCO plans to build a 3 mt-integrated steel plant

Indian steel producer Tata Iron and Steel Corp (TISCO) is reportedly planning to build an integrated steel plant, which will have an annual production capacity of 3 million tons. The company officials stated that they are in talks with the state government but declined to reveal the name of the state and the total cost of the project. The officials also stated that they are in talks with another state government to establish a steel plant. The planned integrated steel plant is not a part of TISCO's announced plans aiming at increasing the production capacity to 15 million tons by 2010. The new integrated steel plant is scheduled to be operational within 3-3.5 years.
