According to the Russian Economic Development and Trade Ministry, the quota for Russian steel exports into the European Union (EU) could increase by 10% to 2.2 million tons in 2005. As previously reported by SteelOrbis, the negotiations regarding the steel exports quota held between Russian and European authorities are expected to complete towards the end November. After completion of the detailed quantity allocations the agreement will be signed between Russian Government and European Commission. The relevant agreement and steel export quota will enter into effect on January 1, 2005.
