In a press release Monday, Tenaris' CEO Paolo Rocca announced that Tenaris intends to invest $200 million in its Cartagena de las Indias, Colombia mill to construct a new heat treatment mill and incorporate new technology for ultrasound inspection and finishing of steel pipe. The products manufactured at the mill will be used both domestically and internationally. The new facilities are expected to be inaugurated in 2014.

"The energy sector in Colombia is on an extraordinary path toward growth in the following years, driven by a favorable context and the government's policies. This opens up important opportunities for the development of an industry like our own, focused on the supply of equipment, products and materials for the oil and gas industry, with Colombian added value," said Paolo Rocca.
