Tenaris has reactivated operations at its steel pipe facility in Conroe, Texas, after operations were halted in 2015. The company said the reopening is the result of “improved market conditions and actions by the US government in support of domestic manufacturing,” according to a news release.

Following an investment of $7 million to ready the plant for operations, the Conroe plant will heat treat and finish pipe from Tenaris’ mill in Bay City, Texas.

“Our Conroe facility is playing an important role in the resurgence of US manufacturing,” said Luca Zanotti, Tenaris President USA, during a reopening event last week that was also attended by US Congressman Kevin Brady, Texas Senator Brandon Creighton, and Conroe Mayor Toby Powell.
