Luxembourg-headquartered international steel pipe producer Tenaris has announced that it will provisionally suspend operations at its Baytown pipe mill in Texas, US. The company has also extended the shutdown of its US-based facilities such as Koppel and Ambridge, Pennsylvania, and Brookfield, Ohio, due to the slowdown of market demand caused by the coronavirus until market conditions improve.

The company in its press release stated that it will reduce its employees and adjust production levels at its other US plants in line with market demand.

The company had announced that it would lay off workers at its Baytown mill a few weeks ago, within the scope of the restructuring of its US steel manufacturing operations.
