Tata Steel UK, subsidiary of Indian steel producer Tata Steel, has announced that it has upgraded the continuous annealing process line at its Trostre plant in Llanelli, Wales.

The investment made for the upgrade totaled £6 million.

The upgrade, which replaced all the drives with a state-of-the-art new system, will allow the line to run faster and for longer, leading to a record-breaking performance.

The continuous annealing process line, which processes 70 percent of the plant’s output, softens the strip steels before they go on to be made into cans for food, petfood, aerosols and paint.
