On June 25, Hebei Province-based Tangshan Steel issued its longs prices for July. The details are as follows:
1. Wire rod prices have decreased by RMB 200/mt ($29/mt). As a result, the price of 6.5 mm diameter Q235 high speed wire rod is at RMB 5,700/mt ($831/mt).
2. Rebar prices are down by RMB 100/mt ($15/mt). After the change, the price of 16-25 mm diameter HRB 335 rebar is now at RMB 5,400/mt ($787/mt), while that of 16-25 mm diameter HRB 400 rebar is at RMB 5,600/mt ($816/mt)
All the above prices include 17 percent VAT and are effective from July 1, 2008.
