Taiwan’s industrial production index in March this year rose by 10.85 percent compared to February and dropped by 14.52 percent year on year, according to the country’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). Meanwhile, Taiwan’s seasonally adjusted industrial production index in the given month decreased by 1.61 percent compared to the previous month and by 13.25 percent year on year.
In March, industrial output in the country’s basic metal manufacturing sector rose by 8.52 percent and output of metal product manufacturing increased by 14.41 percent, both compared to the previous month. In addition, on year-on-year basis, in the given month output of the basic metal manufacturing sector dropped by 14.23 percent and output of the metal product manufacturing sector moved down by 13.41 percent.
Meanwhile, in March this year, production in Taiwan’s machinery and equipment industry declined by 21.91 percent, while output in the automotive industry grew by 1.84 percent, both year on year.
