Taiwan's manufacturing industrial production index in March this year fell by 3.8 percent year on year and was up 12.8 percent as compared to February, while in the first quarter of the current year the country's manufacturing production decreased by five percent year on year, according to Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA).
In March, production of the basic metal industry in Taiwan decreased 5.7 percent compared to the same month last year, and was up 10.3 percent over the previous month. On the other hand, in the first quarter of this year, the country's output of basic metals fell by 6.7 percent year on year.
Meanwhile, in March Taiwan's fabricated metal product output grew by 11 percent month on month and was down 4.8 percent year on year. In the January-March period of this year, the country's fabricated metal product output fell by five percent compared to the same period last year.
