Swedish crude steel output falls 5.5 percent in April

According to the latest data released by the Swedish Steel Producers' Association (Jernkontoret), in April this year Swedish crude steel production amounted to 452,200 metric tons, decreasing by 5.5 percent year on year and up slightly by 0.3 percent as compared to March.

In the first four months of 2012, Swedish crude steel production totaled 1.7 million mt, with a decrease of 8.9 percent compared to the same period of 2011.

Meanwhile, in the first quarter of the current year Swedish steelworks' deliveries of finished products amounted to 972,000 mt, down 11.6 percent compared to the same quarter of 2011.
