Swedish crude steel output down 1.5 percent in Oct from Sept

According to the latest data released by the Swedish Steel Producers' Association (Jernkontoret), in October this year Swedish crude steel production amounted to 357,700 metric tons, decreasing by 9.6 percent year on year, and indicating a month-on-month decrease of 1.5 percent.

In the first 10 months of 2012, Swedish crude steel production totaled 3.7 million mt, with a decrease of 11.6 percent compared to the same period of 2011.

Meanwhile, in the first eight months of this year Sweden's exports of finished steel, including blooms and billets, amounted to 2.3 million mt, down 9.6 percent compared to the same period of 2011. Swedish finished steel imports in the first eight months totaled 2.4 million mt, down 5.4 percent compared to the same period of 2011.
