Sweden’s SSAB to start offering fossil-free steel in Q2

Swedish specialty steel producer SSAB has announced that it will start to offer fossil-free steel in the second quarter this year.

The product called SSAB Zero™ is produced using fossil-free energy. The quality and properties of SSAB Zero™ will be equal to SSAB’s conventional steels.

The company aims to deliver 40,000 mt of SSAB Zero™ to the market in 2023, ramping up to around 100,000 mt in 2025.
